Nuon is completely open and permissionless when it comes to strategies
Nuon uses a lightweight, veto-based governance system for approving or rejecting new yield strategies. This allows the protocol to be completely open and without whitelists; anyone can propose a new vault.
The financial responsibility for these decisions fall on nuMINT holders
Any parameter that could lead to a loss of funds is governed by nuMINT holders. This is because if they take on excessive risk and things go wrong, they bear the financial consequences. This simple incentive mechanism ensures that the protocol is always striving for the highest yield with the lowest risk.
As a reward for proper governance, nuMINT holders earn the majority of yields
nuMINT holders are incentivized to be good stewards of the Nuon protocol. If they manage the parameters well, the protocol should expect to earn far more than the Truflation rate. Most of the excess yields are distributed to these governance participants, to be claimed when their staking periods end.
